Several years ago I designed stamps for a local shop here in Norrköping, Pyssel Passion. I had great fun drawing two children who were called Agnes and Melwyn in all different situations.
I have drawn children since I was a little girl, I’ve worked as an illustrator for different fashion firms and I teach fashion drawing. I love drawing people – especially children. I also paint and teach workshops in acrylics and mixed media, but that’s another story (see www.gredelin.se/kurser for more info on my courses)…
I have decided to start drawing children again, drawings which can be downloaded from my webshop. This, I hope, is just the beginning and my plan is to add new drawings (digital stamps) to my webshop every month. I like to use my own models for my designs and my 3 children, Freddie, Heidi and Gabbie, who are now grown up, are my inspiration – this is what they looked like when they were young!
I love colouring in my illustrations, and so I am going to post examples of how you can colour in, use shading, and get different effects using different materials. Click on the button above Digital Stamps and then click on each design to see it in full.
Here is a film I’ve just finished, showing how I work with Faber Castell Polychromos and marker pens to colour in one of my stamps – Heidi teen – these are the Polychromos colours I used, I also use a marker pen in the film for the skin colour. I use both Promarker and Copic marker pens. Good skin colours for caucasian (white) skin in Promarker are Dusky Pink, Almond and Oatmeal. In Copic there are more skin colours to choose from which are mostly called E and a number, like E00, E02, E21, E53.
Here are a few examples of how you can use the stamps with cards and paintings….
